Develop a solution to push notifications for employees

Push.io looks like it will require a custom app be developed in order to send push notifications.  I will continue to look more into it.

FlashPanel has a /broadcast and /groupcast setting for Apps Butler which will mass broadcast or groupcast (based on Google Group) a chat message to all users, or all users in the group listed.  This would not cost any additional money to implement.

The  bottom line is that we need a way for members of the Administration team to push notifications out to employees. Not sure if FlashPanel will work for them directly but maybe.

SnapComms has what I believe to be a very good solution to internal communication outside of normal email channels.  They have a Mac agent, but it appears they are not yet up-to-date with 10.9.  When talking with a support agent they mentioned that a new version will be coming out this quarter with full 10.9 support.  While I will look around for additional solutions, I think SnapComms is worth waiting on before we commit.

I got ahold of our account rep, and they have a developer meeting tomorrow.  They will bring this up to see if they can get me more information in the next day or two.

They got back to me and said the 10.9 client is in QA and should be ready for GA in about 1-2 weeks.  I am putting this on hold until then since SnapComms seems to be the best fit for ICA's needs.

Followed back up with SnapComms, and they said they are almost ready for the 10.9 release on their client.  They said they would restart our trial and hopefully will have the client ready in a few more days depending on their QA.

SnapComms client is ready.  I have installed it and used it successfully on my machine.  We have a 30-day trial ready to go.
