Creative Writing (Mika and Aimн©) needs training on how to efficiently upload and change content on their section of the public website. The challenges they mention include:

Access to photo bank (images taken by marketing that we may peruse and choose to upload).

Also, a review of photo resolution requirements would be helpful and how to fill with black if they are not the right size (horizontally).

Aimн© had trouble adding Upcoming Readings text/images and Megan found that Aimн© didnду»t have access. Because we make changes/additions so infrequently, the steps and process is confusing as each section has a different system for updating.

Need a better digital repository for videos, and a way to view / find / archive them.
Older material is not of high technological quality (older cameras, etc.).
Newer video could be reused for the website, for teaching, etc.
Editing time is a big issue as well.
Overall video production time and process is not particularly efficient.
New Zoom is nice but HD requires a lot of space as well. Also have new Canon camera WITH STORAGE.
We need to consider using Final Cut Pro rather than iMovie -- or evaluate if we are using iMovie effectively.

We need to find a good way to share big videos with folks outside of the institution.

Better system/process for students to submit content, track changes (easily), and track revisions.

Current issues include: Playwriting formatting in Word does not transfer to Google Docs. Screenwriting uses Final Draft because formatting does not work in Word.

Desires: A version control for documents and the ability to see changes between versions. CW prefers to write their margin comments for studentsду» poems, essays, stories, etc. by hand.

Possible solutions noted: BPM with CW to map out their complicated workflow. It was mentioned that they would like to experiment with iPads and the app that would allow them to hand-write on the iPad then save these as PDF files.

Software for CA students is complex because of the multidisciplinary nature of their work.
How do we manage the cost / sophistication of this arrangement.
Increasing the relationship with IPR

Currently doing Sound Out with Academy students. 11pm Sat.
Provide more technology to the students.
Will be using C7 and Phoenix as spaces.
Also need to use DeRoy for screening.
Core class in aesthetics in Mott 6.
It is also currently their home base and hub.
2-4 arts electives.
Daily block for projects.
Scheduling of spaces will be a complexity as which elective is needed or selected by students wonду»t be known terribly ahead of time.
Need to be able to check out cameras.
1 hour block this year daily; three hour block every other Wednesday with Johamy and the alternating Wednesday with Peter / IPR.
All the technology resources they need have to be accessible from Mott 6.
Maybe need to look at a color / photo printer for this department.

IPR studio was / is too far.
1:1 will provide an advantageous homogeneous technological foundation.

Last Thursday during our meeting with Peter Payette we talked about the idea of having a small recording studio in the classroom as an idea. We know that having a studio in the library is an idea and/or having one in the basement of stone hotel was another. Just sending your way another idea since the classroom is going to be remodeled.

DeRoy also has a locked hallway door.
Security cameras in the fitness room, lobbies, and the cafeteria.
Should we consider taking photos of campers for the sake of security?
Can we solve the logistical challenges?
Perhaps upload a picture into Aspen before arrival to be printed on the badge and available.
