Optimize Inquiry mailing process

Process between IT / ERx / Admissions and getting inquiry mailings done is not effective.
Paper application, paper profile, and viewbook.
should be site for inquiries?
Printing labels is hard.
Opportunity to transition this effort to John.

Acquire state of the art equipment for the benefit of preparing students for college/real-world.
Examples: Digital printmaking, digital looms, digital platemaking, 3D printer. Digital photoemulsion platemaking

Name Pronunciation Guide

Since we have so many International students (some with very difficult names to pronounce) is there a way to program in Aspen a place for a phonetic spelling of a student's name? They or their parents could write out their name phonetically when they register (that could be on their registration card when then check in). I think it would be less frustrating for our students if we could pronounce their names correctly and it would look better for us, not to be stumbling over student names in front of students or their parents. We could list it on the main student page on Aspen after the Nickname field.

Note: Many domestic names are also difficult to pronounce. Should do this for all students.

It would be ideal to have this in Salesforce as well, for admissions, advancement, business office, box office, etc.

Narrative Comment Function on Aspen

Training needed on how to create individualized systems for tracking student progress via narrative comments.

The majority of our assessment of students takes the form of narrative comments vs. letter grades or numerical grades.

Variations may include:

Weekly/bi-weekly updates on student/class progress.
Narrative comments on specific assignments in place of letter grades.
A combination of both of the above.
A combination of narrative comments for some assignments and letter/numerical grades for others.

Get interesting and unmigrated Prospect Comments, Activities, pre-1988 donation details, and "Lost" Addresses from FundAl into Salesforce. Create custom objects where appropriate. See Michael Slawnik for SQL queries. May also need ot get Pathfinder Education records.

Track/record guest artists (Camp, Academy & LALI) in SalesForce

1) We'd like to get guest artists who are not yet in SalesForce recorded in the system.

2) We'd like to be able to track when guest artists were on campus.


This will help tell us how individuals became connected to Interlochen and how the relationship developed/deepened over time. (Additionally, it will help me in reporting. I am constantly pulling lists of guest artists for funder reports.)


This came up recently when a prospect of Erin's mentioned that she had done a lecture for LALI, but it was recorded nowhere.


We have batted around a few ideas: Creating a "Guest Artist" Primary Classification; recording guest artist contract periods in the Activity History; recording guest artist contract periods in employment, etc.

Are we going to continue with Camp being a paper-driven solution rather than a technology driven one? Specifically progress reports, etc.
Have to decide if this is something that is just scanned into Aspen, entered into Aspen, etc.
